Mental Health & Wellbeing

Your child's mental health & wellbeing

Children’s mental health and wellbeing, now more than ever, is being reported on more and more.  With a range of issues surrounding social media, including isolation, self-esteem, diet and many others, it is clear that there is a nationwide concern around children’s mental health.

At Maun Infant and Nursery School, we have several strategies to support children’s mental health and the worries they may have. These include a relationships-based approach for all children, alongside more bespoke strategies where required, for groups of children or individuals i.e. through ELSA.  Our Safeguarding and Pastoral Lead is Mrs Ramsdale.  As well as leading targeted interventions with identified children, Mrs Ramsdale also works flexibly to support children as required at the time.  This may be by simply providing time out in a safe space for a child to have their wishes and feelings heard.
