Children’s mental health and well-being, now more than ever, is being reported on more and more. With a range of issues surrounding social media, isolation, self-esteem, diet, among many others. It is clear that there is a nationwide concern around children’s mental health.
At The Forest View Academy we have several strategies to support children’s mental health and the worries they may have. These include worry monsters, nurture groups, sessions with our Safeguarding and Pastoral Lead, Mrs Dunn, extra-curriculum activities, liaising with parents/carers. As well as simply providing time out in a safe space for a child to have their wishes and feelings heard.
Early intervention can be highly effective in improving wellbeing and reducing the impact of mental health problems. That is why at The Forest View Academy we have adopted a whole school approach to promote good mental health and wellbeing.
Should you need any help or advice regarding issues around mental health and well-being please do not hesitate to contact us at school.
We can assess their emotional behaviour using an assessment called The Boxall Profile. If you have any worries about your child’s emotional well-being and mental health, please don’t hesitate to speak to a member of staff in school
